SAS brand thermal assembly equipment can be configured to exceed your production requirements. We provide all levels of plastic assembly solutions for the automotive, medical, and consumer electronics industries. Our thermal assembly equipment is used for heat staking, heat swaging, heat sealing, heat insertion, applying heat seal connectors, and many more applications. These versatile, air presses (tonnage based on 80 psi) can be used in punching, crimping or forming your product assembly. It can be easily tooled or retooled using inexpensive, standard die sets. Manual Thermal Assembly Systems can be used for new product development and/or low-volume applications. A low-cost system with PID temperature control and dwell time control. The unit features a hard stop and an easy to adjust head height for accurate control of the heat staking, heat swaging, and thermal sealing processes.
These table units incorporate the head of the MTS-100 bench top systems with a steel top machine stand. The manual, lever arm unit is ideal for single point or small, multi-point assembly operations. Simple solution for large format, but low volume production needs.
PTS Series Pneumatic Thermal Assembly Systems The SAS PTS Series Pneumatic Thermal Assembly Systems can be used in any production environment where precise controls and repeatability are required. The standard models of our pneumatic systems come in force ranges from 120 pounds to 1-1/2 tons. All models feature PID temperature control, programmable dwell timer, adjustable stroke length, and tooling leveling features.
PTS Plus Series Pneumatic Thermal Assembly Equipment The SAS PTS Plus Series Pneumatic Thermal Assembly Systems is a more advanced line of equipment. The PTS Plus Series come in force ranges from 120 pounds to 1-1/2 tons. All models feature a Plug’n’Play approach for integrating more advanced controls in to the assembly process. Tooling packages can be developed for any application. All tooling packages are based on standarized formats to make tooling changeouts quick and easy. Quick change options are available for more demanding production environments where down-time can be eliminated between projects. Plug-n-play options include the following: Slide Tables (manual, pneumatic, and electronic), Rotary Tables, Post-Cool Systems, Clamping Systems (manual, pneumatic, and electronic), Linear Encoder, Part Sensing, part inspection, data acquisition, and finished part traceability systems.
Custom Thermal Assembly Equipment and Systems Custom Thermal Assembly Systems can be used for larger or more intricate application or production needs. Custom units will feature all of the same process controls included in our standard pneumatic systems. Custom thermal assembly units can be used for larger scale applications or for more intricate or multi-axis applications, than one of our standard format machines. Custom systems can include complete automation packages with pick-n-place systems, as well as other technology and equipment integrated in to one turn-key solution.
